OUR HISTORY

EBC has its humble beginnings way back in 1983 by Baptist missionaries led by Roger Hesch. The church started out with a few believers meeting at the house & home of Roger Hesch, a Baptist missionary assigned by the Baptist mission of Uganda. Brethren would meet for bible study, prayer and fellowship at the house.

They were involved in various outreaches which include schools and institutions outreach, film and video ministry and door to door outreach.

The congregation grew and increased in number to attract residents of Entebbe most of them, professionals and civil servants. The fellowship then shifted in 1984 and started meeting at the Golf Club at Kakeeka cricket oval. The building was home for the church for about 5 years.

The church later acquired land in Lunnyo village in 1991 and moved to set up a permanent home for the church. The place had few residents, was bushy and wild. It was the first church in Lunnyo and the first Baptist church in Entebbe. By and by, the church’s presence contributed to the transformation of the village.
